Where to find milkweed

Hi! I have a basal cell spot I would like to treat with petty spurge (milkweed), but I cannot find ANYWHERE in the United States that sells the plant or the seeds. I see there are other varieties of milkweed available but this one has many documented cases of successfully treating BCC. Help!

  1. Hi . The active ingredient in petty spurge, ingenol mebutate, was developed into an FDA-approved medication called Picato (ingenol mebutate) for treating actinic keratosis, but Picato was discontinued in the US in 2020 after it was linked to higher a risk of skin cancer. Here is an article about a class action suit against the manufacturer: https://www.classaction.org/news/class-action-seeks-refunds-for-worthless-picato-gel-linked-to-increased-skin-cancer-risk. So, it's probably not a good idea to try it yourself, especially without a doctor's supervision. Have you talked with your doctor about other treatments? Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
